PNCA presented the 2014 Gala : Transformation Now!
A Benefit for the Pacific Northwest College of Art with their world class partner, VIGOR Industrial. The Benefit included live performances featuring K.D. Lang and the art students presented their work throughout the night.
It was a great honor for us to collaborate with the visionary designer Michael Curry as the Art Director of this spectacular Gala. Since GuildWorks specializes in fabric architecture our approach allowed a unique backdrop, which effectively softened the stark industrial lines within the Vigor Industrial Shipyard warehouse and Simultaneously providing unique surfaces for lighting and visual projections.
Back in March, GuildWorks ~ Art of the Air Performance Team returned from Tulsa Oklahoma with quite the experience to share we wanted to tell the story immediately but we were waiting for supporting photos. Our patience paid off because we are proud to present a spectacular new video t which features interviews with Mar Ricketts the founder of GuildWorks, Heather Morrow GuildWorks Choreographer and Tim Elverston of Wind Fire Designs, thanks to Talmadge Powell Creative, who produced the Best Party In Town, Carnivale 25 in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Starting with a concept of a beautiful Victorian aristocrat who's dreams spark performance vignettes as if emerging from her imagination as she sleeps, suspended in the air. Featuring 6 indoor kite performers, and working with the local dance troupe Portico Dance Company. The results... we'll let you be the judge from the video and photos we share.
Talmadge Powell Creative, a multidisciplinary creative team based in Tulsa, invited Mar Ricketts of GuildWorks to collaborate on the creative direction and vision for an indoor kite & aerial performance to celebrate Carnivale 25 which raised $1.2 million for the Mental Health Association in Tulsa.
The Mental Health Association provides 833 units of safe and affordable housing, along with access to support groups, advocacy, treatment, legal counseling and other community supports. Over the years, they have learned from the success of our tenants that the solution to homelessness is simple and effective: A place to call home and a community of people who believe in their ability to recover with treatment, peer support and social inclusion. Using this model, we are working to eliminate and prevent homelessness of people with mental illnesses and co-occurring
disorders throughout Tulsa County.
The Mental Health Association in Tulsa envisions new ways to promote mental health and support those affected by mental illness in the Tulsa community. Their current programs include housing for approximately 1,136 individuals and families, many of whom are affected by mental illness. We also offer six support groups and peer support programs to provide socialization opportunities for those affected by mental illness. They provide ongoing educational opportunities to the Tulsa community on mental health, and advocate on behalf of those they serve.

We are proud to announce and present the ongoing success of the Portland Business Alliance Annual Breakfast Meeting 2014. GuildWorks has been working with the PBA since 2005 and has once again presented a stellar backdrop and projection screens. This year we applied a new style, by folding and tensioning bands of fabric, to gesture the iconic PBA logo. We also designed two lectern covers to facilitate guest speakers and bring an elegant look to the stage in line with the dramatic sweeping fabric backdrop. The results are a refreshingly bold corporate look, that left attendees with a lasting impression.
