Hooray for summer! It’s time to enjoy the outdoors and sun and heat protection are a must! Recently, several clients needed dynamic shade structures that would provide shade and visual interest while matching their brand and vibe. We really love it when these structures go up because they increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment.
Below are a few new projects. What is wonderful about these structures is that they expand the potential use of the space. Depending upon need, the space can be transformed for classes, performances, and other special events as well as provide shade during the summer months.
We hope you’ll visit these spots soon. And if you can’t be there in person, be sure to check them out online!
Community Support Project - Circus Project Domes on the Portland Waterfront
Two geodesic domes, specially reinforced for aerial use, are connected with an arch and covered in colorful architectural fabrics...perfect for summer classes and performances! This was GuildWorks’ community support project for the year. We’re excited to support this non-profit circus arts organization that needed covid-safe classrooms so students could practice again.
Hawkins Cellars in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area
This custom GuildWorks array offers shade coverage for gathering at the winery and tasting room. This winery has amazing views of the gorge so weather protection was of utmost importance to the client. Now guests can enjoy the view even more!
Argyle Winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley
Another GuildWorks array was put quickly into place yesterday to help the winery out with their summertime events. They are planning to have a concert this weekend and the region is expected to be in the triple digits so shading the outdoor area was top of mind. We're happy to be able to help make this beautiful outdoor space even more comfortable!
