We have one position currently open for a Drafting Assistant in Portland, Oregon. This position will report directly to the GuildWorks Design Lead and GuildWorks Principal.
Due to COVID-19, GuildWorks has strict safety protocols for all employees in place. At this time, this position is a remote work-from-home employment opportunity that may shift to working at the GuildWorks studio in the future. This will depend upon how the situation evolves and how we maintain safety for all employees.
You must have the following to apply:
Be able to work from home with a home computer (PC or Mac) System
Ideally, have 2 monitors to support the level of design work required
Software you will need: Auto-CAD, markup programs like Bluebeam or other, Rhino (bonus), Sketchup (bonus)
A fast and consistent internet connection
Overview: The Drafter will produce professional, highly-detailed 3D models and 2D drawings and construction documents for architectural and engineering design/analysis along with fabrication and installation documents. Over the duration of employment, this role will include understanding GuildWorks’ production and installation to gain a more complete understanding of our overall process.
Experience with AutoCAD and Rhino software.
Must have a great grasp on technical skills and visualizing in 3D.
Related work experience is a factor in our consideration.
Must have exceptional attention to detail.
Must be able to look ahead and anticipate what will impact the work that is being done in the moment.
Experience producing Construction Documents for Architectural or Engineering permit sets a plus.
Experience producing shop drawing sets a plus
Responsibilities and Duties:
Follow direct supervision from our Design Lead.
Produce 3D models and 2D drawings and related documents.
Ability to learn new software programs.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Hard-working problem solver.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in both Mac and Windows environments.
Available to work longer hours as needed.
Associates degree or better in Architecture or Engineering (or a degree-in-process).
Experience with design.
Experience working with the Google platform.
