​Honeycomb VIP Lounge

Cisco Systems was hosting its annual Customer appreciation party at the San Diego Petco Park Stadium and asked us for an inspiring VIP lounge that would feel open but intimate. ​  The installation delivered is one of our most dynamic three dimensional environments to date.

​Design Requirements and Challenges:

• Create a unique and inspiring space
• Provide a sense of enclosure while maintaining views out in all directions
• Grass of baseball field was not allowed to be penetrated for anchors
• Heavy equipment was not allowed on grass of baseball field and field may not be damaged in any way. 
• Needed an integral solution for lighting the structure
• Timeline required a very short installation window and an even shorter take down window​​

In order to protect the grass, GuildWorks developed a design that could be entirely supported by the structure of the stadium seating. Using high strength spectra fiber ropes we engineered attachments to various structure points as high as the upper levels of the stadium to support the top level of our structure. We floated the entire structure off of these points and then gently pulled the columns down to rest on the grass with lightweight ballasts. Inside the columns, battery powered LED color changing lights were placed right before the event that illuminated the whole structure from the inside.

The whole structure was installed in under a day with a hand full of riggers and was totally removed in two hours time. The event was a great success.​
